Volunteer With Us

Getting your foot in the door of the media industry can be difficult but Channel 44 can offer you firsthand experience in the profession that will benefit your career!

Volunteers are integral to the success of Channel 44 and there are a broad range of roles available on an ongoing basis. We are seeking candidates with a diverse skill set in a variety of areas such as:

Real World Experience

Gaining real world experience opens up a wealth of opportunity in the industry. Many of our volunteers have gone on to have very successful careers and we are privileged to have had their time and dedication.

Channel 44 recognises that the future of local television media will be in the hands of the media students of today, so we are committed to offering the best possible experience to the future contributors and custodians of our industry.

We require that internships/work experience are completed on a part-time (one day per week) basis for a minimum of three months, so please check with your course provider if this arrangement would be feasible prior to applying. We would also look favourably on applicants who are interested in volunteering on an-ongoing and longer-term basis as volunteer training requires an investment of our time and resources.

As work experience placements are in high demand, we can only consider applications from media students studying at a tertiary level. Unfortunately, we cannot consider secondary school students seeking work experience placements at the present time.

How To Apply

Volunteering opportunities have closed for 2021 and we’ll be recruiting for new volunteering roles in early 2022. Please check back for available opportunities then.
