The Channel 44 team is brought together by our dedicated staff and volunteers, working in roles from video production to event coordination. We highly value the contributions made by our volunteers and in turn offer a wide range of valuable work experience.

Our Staff

Lauren Hillman
General Manager

General Manager Lauren Hillman leads the team at C44 with over 12 years of industry experience. Lauren has had an exciting and varied career in the South Australian TV industry working for the ABC, Channel Nine and as an independent producer. Lauren is excited about creating opportunities with untapped areas of the community, discovering new local talent and moving the station forward online to a multi platform delivery service for the South Australian community.

Did you know?… Lauren was named one of Adelaide’s ‘Top 40 Under 40’ business leaders in 2018.

Kristen Hamill
Digital Production & Marketing Manager

Kristen manages C44’s productions and marketing efforts. Kristen comes to C44 after ten years in marketing and media production in the not-for-profit, technology and arts sectors in both Adelaide and her hometown of Boston. She is involved in the Adelaide film industry and enjoys working with local talent to bring their ideas to life.

Did you know?… Kristen also runs the Adelaide 48 Hour Film Project, a global filmmaking competition where teams race to write, shoot, edit and score a short film in just 48 hours.

Emmanuel Photakis
Broadcast/Digital Manager

Emmanuel Photakis – or Eman, as he is widely known – is our Broadcast and Digital Manager. He ensures the station’s on air systems are running correctly and manages our live stream productions. Eman has been involved in the media in Adelaide for many years, coming to C44 after working in the world of radio.  Emmanuel has always had a passion for producing local content and has encyclopaedic knowledge of Adelaide broadcasting history. He loves his sport and is excited to bring more local sports coverage to C44.

Did you know?… Eman is a technology enthusiast and owns an extensive collection of ex-broadcast gear from many of Adelaide’s television and radio stations.

Alan Lawson
Operations Manager

Alan Lawson is our Operations Manager who helps oversee the day-to-day running of the station. With his eye for detail and experience in quality management, Alan ensures the smooth running of the station is maintained. Alan returns to community television after volunteering for Channel 31 Adelaide many years ago. He later worked as a civil engineer on local and interstate water infrastructure projects, before coming back to his roots in community television.

Did you know?… Alan is active in the local music scene both as a fingerstyle acoustic guitarist and as a vocalist/bassist in a local indie band. Avid viewers of Channel 44 Adelaide may even catch him and his guitar on-air from time to time.
