South Australian creatives will battle it out in a footy match this Sunday 31 July for the Adelaide Reclink Community Cup.
The event, which is returning after a 2-year COVID hiatus, will be held at Coopers Stadium Norwood.
The Reclink Community Cup is usually run annually to raise money for the state’s most disadvantaged.
Formerly held between Adelaide media and musicians, it has been opened up to all creatives and people wanting to support the cause.
Previous years’ players have included Premier Peter Malinauskas, former Premier Steven Marshall, football legends Chad Cornes, Nathan Bassett, and Nikki Gore, musician Tim Rogers, and media personalities such as Tory Shepherd and Cameron England.
SA State Manager of Reclink Australia, Andy Asser, is looking forward to having the event back up and running again this year. “The Adelaide Community Cup has helped us to lift our profile and provides vital funds for our community-based programs that help disadvantaged South Aussies. The game is always a great laugh, and we are thrilled to have it back in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.”
The event has so far raised more than $120,000 from pre-match events and from the support of businesses, organisations and individuals.
Expect to see live music, raffles, and community fun, with gates opening at 12pm on Sunday 31 July. Tickets are available online or at the gate.
