History Festival returns with over 500 events across SA

South Australia’s History Festival, one of the state’s largest open-access community events, returns this year with more than 500 events across SA.

The program was recently launched online (watch it here on CTV+) with the theme reimagine, inviting us to challenge how we think about and share our history. It honours our state’s unique history and celebrates the South Australians who keep these stories alive. The month-long festival is underway for its eighteenth year with a range of events including:

The History Festival will also be celebrating and commemorating special anniversaries, including a rematch of the 1922 SANFL match between North Adelaide and Glenelg, celebrating 100 years since the sides met at Prospect Oval.

History Trust CEO, Greg Mackie OAM said, “We are thrilled to present another History Festival for the people of South Australia and invite all to make time to discover and embrace the rich history that this state has to offer.”
