Staying Connected with C44 During COVID-19

Dear C44 Friends, Fans & Program Makers,

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds in South Australia, we are aware that staying connected and informed is more important than ever before. While our focus is on providing entertaining, informational and educational content for our free-to-air and online channel, we are also looking at other ways we can use our broadcast to support and connect the local community during this very challenging time.

C44 is more than a television station, we are also a valuable community resource and an open-access platform for local voices. There are many people in our community that don’t have access to the internet or to smart devices, and for them our broadcast can serve as a meaningful alternative.  If you are a community group, religious organisation, educator, performer or artist that is interested in broadcasting with C44 as a way of connecting with your community, please get in touch with us to see how we can help.

Over the Easter week, we will be live broadcasting four services from St Francis Xavier Cathedral. We are working with a number of other religious organisations including the Islamic Information Centre, Impact Church, Adelaide Christian Centre and Christian Family Centre to broadcast religious services for their congregations as they are no longer able to meet face-to-face.

We’re also encouraging everyone to use our broadcast to get social! We’ve recently introduced Social Saturdays, a fun initiative we’ll be releasing across our social media channels, posing weekly video challenges (Meet My Pet, Kidz Kraftz, COVID Cook Up) to be shared online and on-air. Watch our Facebook page or Instagram channel for more details.

And as always, we welcome new film and series submissions from our local content creators. We are constantly on the hunt for fresh local content!

We are looking forward to brighter times in what we hope is the not-too-distant future, but in the meantime settle in, flick on Channel 44 and stay connected with us.

Stay safe and take care.
